Note: There are MAJOR SPOILERS for The Origami King ahead. And perhaps one of the most symbolic games of the fifth generation of consoles is the original Paper Mario. Millennials and even some gen-Zers likely remember blowing into the bulky cartridges, desperately trying to get them to load once again, or the strange three-legged controllers that were just too big for the hands of tiny 90s babies. This is an element of game play similar to what we saw in Paper Mario: Color Splash, where players could restore colorless areas of the world with paint.The Nintendo 64 is arguably one of the most nostalgic icons of the 90s, especially for gamers. Once a Toad has been restored to its proper form, it might return to Toad Town and offer a helpful service, like opening a store or unlocking an area of the map. These origami shapes can take the form of an origami bug on a tree trunk, an origami dog, and so on, so you'll need to keep an eye out for suspicious folded paper items in your travels. Players need to locate Toads who have been folded into origami shapes and restore them to their proper forms by wacking them with a hammer. This sometimes makes it more appealing to run away from confrontation and avoid enemies completely while exploring an area. The Origami King is similar to Color Splash and Sticker Star in that Mario does not earn experience points or level up after defeating enemies. However, that's not how things work in The Origami King. Namely to where Mario must defeat enemies to earn experience points and level up as the story progresses. Many fans had hoped that the sixth installment in the Paper Mario series would return a little more to its traditional RPG roots. Not only are these real-time battles enjoyable, but they help break up the Battle Ring System fights and provide more variety to the game. Some of these Paper Macho baddies are basic enemies, but others provide full-blown boss battles. He'll then run around the overworld and whack this enormous foe until it explodes into confetti. Yes! Every once in awhile, Mario will come face to face with a Papier-mâché Paper Macho enemy. Then once he's gotten close, Mario can deliver devastating attacks. Instead of moving the enemies around, players will need to rotate the field in such a way that it creates a path that allows Mario to reach the boss. However, when it comes to boss fights, the Battle Ring System functions a little differently. Fortunately, if you're running out of time, you can pay coins to Toads in the stands to extend the timer. ![]() In fact, Mario will receive a 1.5 damage bonus if he solves the Battle Ring System puzzle and places enemies in the best possible positions. That being the case, the challenge for this battle style is arranging your enemies in some order so that you can efficiently inflict the most damage within a time limit. However, you'll have to think fast as there's a time limit for how long you can manipulate the field. He can jump on rows of origami enemies his Boots or he can slam down his Hammer on a grouping of four enemies with one strike. Mario has to main forms of attack: Boots and a Hammer.
